You can ask us to delete your Studio Baton account and everything in it at any time, for any reason, without giving us an explanation. This page explains exactly how, and exactly what happens.
How to request deletion
Email us from the address on your account. We ask for this so we can be sure the request really comes from you — we will not delete a studio on the word of someone we cannot verify.
Put "Close my studio" in the subject line. You do not need to write anything else, though you are welcome to tell us why — it helps us improve.
We will confirm by email once it is done. We complete deletion requests within 30 days, usually much sooner.
You can also start this request from inside the app: Settings → Close My Studio. It opens the same email so you do not have to remember the address.
What gets deleted
Permanently removed
- Your teacher account and login
- Your studio name and studio code
- Every student record in your studio — names, birthdays, schools, instruments, schedules, and fees
- All parent and guardian contact details
- All lesson notes, attendance records, and homework assignments
- All trial lesson records
- All chat messages between you and your families
- Any pending join requests and enrollment submissions
Kept, and why
- Payment records may be kept for up to 7 years. These may be needed for tax and accounting purposes — ours and potentially yours. They are kept in isolation and are not used for anything else.
- Anything we are legally required to retain. If this ever applies to you, we will tell you what and why.
If you want a copy of your records before they are deleted, say so in the same email and we will send you an export first. Ask for this before deletion — once it is done, we cannot get it back.
If you are a parent or student
If you have a family account that a teacher approved into their studio, emailing us deletes your login and your chat messages.
The student record itself — lesson notes, attendance, payment status — belongs to your teacher's studio, and your teacher controls it. Ask your teacher to delete that record. If you cannot reach them, write to us and we will help.
